How to edit an exe eBook, for which you have GiveAway rights

It is possible that you got from someone an eBook, in exe format, with GiveAway rights, but you didn’t also get that eBook in an editable format, like .doc or .odt.

You have 4 choices:

1. You contact the person who gave you the eBook and ask for the editable format
2. You find an exe eBook decompiler
3. You print the exe eBook as a pdf file, then you extract the text from that pdf
4. You find a program that can copy text from exe eBooks.

Option #1 : Finding the author can take time and you can’t be sure that he will answer you back. Even if he does, this can take a long time.

Option #2 : The problem with the eBook decompilers is that not all the exe eBooks were created with the same program. Not only is hard to find what program was used to create the exe eBook, but you have to find the right decompiler, which can decompile the eBook you have.

Option #3 : This option doesn’t always work. Not every exe eBook has printing capabilities activated.

Option #4 : In my opinion, the best choice is #4. The best program I own that can select text from any of my exe files is called Aqua DeskPerience. This program can select text even from the menus of the Windows and from almost any place you have text.

Maybe there is a free program somewhere that can do the same, but never found one. Aqua DeskPerience has a trial and you can see for yourself what such program can do.
